SA BHP – Smelter Campaign maintenance SCM17

Feb 2017

BHP has selected ICE Engineering and Construction as their Electrical and Instrumentation constructor for the 2017 Smelter Campaign Maintenance work (SCM17). This large and complex project will provide approximately 280 jobs for our local South Australian based Supervisors, electricians, instrumentation technicians, commissioning techs and support staff.

ICE has a long history at Olympic Dam delivering projects since 2001 across the processing plant, around the mine site and in the township of Roxby Downs. This project and the ongoing work that Olympic Dam provides is vital to the SME’s in the region and BHP Billiton has again demonstrated that it supports local companies that can step up and deliver.

“The confidence BHP has demonstrated in selecting ICE is a realization of many years of hard work and has come at a great time for the business and for our staff in both Whyalla and Adelaide”, said Nick Bindi the ICE CEO.
