The Nyrstar processing facility located in the town of Port Pirie in South Australia, approximately 230 kms north of Adelaide, is undergoing a major redevelopment.
The redevelopment will transform the operation and provide significant benefits to Nyrstar and the community of the Port Pirie. As part of this transformation ICE was selected to install all the Electrical and Instrumentation equipment associated with the State of the Art Top Submerged Lance (TSL) Furnace Modules received from China.
ICE mobilised to site in early March and will complete the work by August 2017, as of July we have over 70 electricians working over 2 shifts to complete our SOW.
The investment in Port Pirie is unique and allows Nyrstar to extract increased value from high margin metal bearing feed materials. The Port Pirie Redevelopment will have a significant positive long-term effect on Nyrstar’s operations and deliver a substantial earnings uplift.
